Hạt muồng chữa trị tăng huyết áp, táo bón

Hạt muồng hay còn gọi là hạt muồng ngủ, theo tên thuốc Đông y là thảo quyết minh, hay quyết minh tử

Hạt muồng ngủ.

Thảo quyết minh được dùng để trị các chứng bệnh liên quan đến một số chức năng của tạng can (gan). Theo YHCT, can khai khiếu ra mắt, can chủ về sơ tiết (mật). Do vậy mà vị thuốc này được Đông y trị các chứng về mắt như đau mắt, mờ mắt... táo bón do thiếu dịch mật.

Cây Muồng ngủ (Cassia tora L.), họ Đậu (Fabaceae), mọc hoang ở nhiều địa phương trong nước ta. Quả muồng ngủ thường chín vào cuối mùa thu, người ta thu hái lấy quả, phơi khô giòn, đập lấy hạt, trước khi dùng phải qua sao chế, nếu đem hạt sắc ngay để uống thì sẽ cho mùi rất nồng và buồn nôn, không thể nào uống nổi.

Cách sao chế hạt muồng?

Với hạt muồng có thể tiến hành một số cách sao chế đơn giản, như sau:

Hạt muồng sao vàng: Dùng một dụng cụ để sao, như chảo gang, nồi nhôm... đun cho nóng già, cho hạt muồng vào, đảo đều cho đến khi toàn bộ phía ngoài của hạt có một lớp dầu bóng láng, tiếp tục sao, một lát sau, lớp dầu đó khô đi và bắt đầu đến giai đoạn hạt nổ cho tiếng kêu lép bép. Khi hạt nổ hết là coi như đã kết thúc dạng sao vàng.

Hạt muồng sao cháy: Sao vàng hạt muồng, sau khi hạt đã nổ hết, tiếp tục sao thêm, chú ý cần đảo đều tay. Một lát sau, từ lớp hạt muồng đang sao bốc lên một lớp khói dầy đặc, mầu vàng da cam (thăng hoa của các thành phần anthranoid có trong hạt muồng), tiếp tục sao và đảo đều tay cho đến khi lớp khói tan dần, trong chảo xuất hiện một làn khói đen nhẹ mùi hơi cháy của hạt muồng.

Tác dụng chữa bệnh của hạt muồng

Cây muồng ngủ.

Táo bón: Đại tiện khó, nhất là về mùa hè nóng nực, nhiệt độ ngoài trời thường xuyên cao, cơ thể mất nhiều mô hôi, tân dịch hao tổn... Ở những người trẻ tuổi, nên dùng hạt muồng sao vàng, liều 16 - 20g/ngày, dưới dạng hãm, uống nhiều lần trong ngày cho tới khi phân nhuận. Với người cao tuổi hoặc phụ nữ sau sinh, trẻ em nhỏ tuổi, bị táo, trĩ, hoặc chứng táo mạn tính, do công việc phải ngồi lâu gây táo bón: dùng hạt muồng sao cháy, liều 10 - 16g/ngày, dưới dạng hãm, uống nhiều lần trong ngày. Trẻ nhỏ tùy tuổi mà giảm liều, mới sinh mà táo bón, dùng 1 - 2g cho thêm nước sôi hoặc sữa mẹ, hấp trên mặt nồi cơm khi cạn, gạn lấy nước để nguội, có thể thêm chút mật ong hay đường phèn cho dễ uống. Uống nhiều ngày cho tới khi hết táo bón.

Tăng huyết áp: Hạt muồng sao cháy 12g, hòe hoa (sao vàng) 10g, cúc hoa 4g, cỏ ngọt 6g, dùng dưới dạng hãm, uống nhiều lần trong ngày. Một liệu trình 3 - 4 tuần, sau nhắc lại.

Mất ngủ, khó ngủ, tinh thần bồn chồn, bất an: Hạt muồng sao cháy 12g, hãm uống hàng ngày, hoặc hạt muồng sao cháy 12g, táo nhân sao đen (hắc táo nhân) 10g, dưới dạng hãm, uống hằng ngày vào buổi chiều và trước khi đi ngủ.

Đau mắt đỏ, mờ mắt: Hạt muồng sao cháy 12g, cúc hoa vàng 6g, hoàng liên 8g, cốc tinh thảo 8g, cam thảo 8g, sắc uống ngày một thang. Một liệu trình 2 - 3 tuần lễ, sau nhắc lại.

Ngoài ra cần chú ý tránh nhầm lẫn với một số loại hạt của một số cây cùng họ với muồng ngủ:

Hạt cây điền thanh có kích thước gần bằng hạt muồng ngủ, ngoài hạt cũng nhẵn bóng như hạt muồng, song mau của hạt lại hơi xám xanh và hai đầu hạt không bị vát.

Hạt cây lục lạc lá tròn (Crotalaria mucronata Desv.) cùng họ đậu (Fabaceae) với muồng ngủ, cây cũng mọc hoang ngay ở những nơi mà muồng ngủ mọc được, do đó có thể rất dễ gây nhầm lẫn. Tuy vậy hạt lục lạc nhỏ hơn, lại có hình thận và có mầu nâu nhạt hay vàng da cam.
