Nguy cơ khi thai phụ dùng thuốc điều trị động kinh

Một nghiên cứu mới đây cho thấy, phụ nữ dùng các thuốc valproate điều trị động kinh trong khi mang thai, trẻ sinh ra có nguy cơ mắc chứng rối loạn phổ tự kỷ (ASD).

Các nhà nghiên cứu Đan Mạch theo dõi 656.000 trẻ em sinh ra tại Đan Mạch từ năm 1996-2006. Kết quả cho thấy những trẻ có mẹ dùng thuốc động kinh khi mang thai có nguy cơ mắc bệnh tự kỷ cao gấp 3 lần những trẻ khác.

Thậm chí, tỷ lệ mắc bệnh tự kỷ ở trẻ có mẹ sử dụng thuốc động kinh khi mang thai cao hơn so với những trẻ có mẹ đã từng sử dụng ma túy nhưng dừng lại trước khi thụ thai. Valproate có thể ảnh hưởng đến sự phát triển não bộ của thai nhi, do vậy các chuyên gia y tế khuyến cáo, phụ nữ mang thai khi sử dụng thuốc điều trị động kinh cần tham khảo ý kiến bác sĩ để giảm rủi ro cho trẻ khi sinh ra, chẳng hạn như sử dụng liều thấp nhất có thể và chia ra nhiều lần uống trong ngày.
