(Dân trí) - Lần đầu tiên, một nhóm nghiên cứu đến từ bệnh viện đa khoa Massachusetts (Boston, Mỹ) đã chứng minh được mối liên quan giữa thiếu vận động thể chất và nguy cơ nghẽn mạch phổi.

Theo các nhà khoa học, những phụ nữ ít vận động, ngồi nhiều sau khi kết thúc công việc ở cơ quan tăng gấp đôi nguy cơ phát triển các cục máu đông trong phổi, hay còn gọi là nghẽn mạch phổi.

Một nhóm nghiên cứu đến từ bệnh viện đa khoa Massachusetts (Boston, Mỹ) dưới sự chỉ đạo của bác sĩ Christopher Kabrhel đã thu thập thông tin về cuộc sống hàng ngày của 69.950 tình nguyện viên trong vòng 18 năm. Các nhà nghiên cứu nhận thấy rằng nguy cơ nghẽn mạch phổi tăng gấp đôi ở những phụ nữ, ngoài thời gian làm việc, thường xuyên ngồi trên 41 tiếng mỗi tuần so với người chỉ ngồi dưới 10 tiếng/tuần. Dù ở độ tuổi nào, cân nặng ra sao, có hút thuốc lá không, các kết quả thu được đều là như nhau..

Nghiên cứu này được công bố trên báo mạng Y tế Anh (British Medical Journal, BMJ).

Thiếu vận động thể chất từ lâu đã liên quan đến các bệnh lý như tiểu đường, các vấn đề về tim mạch hay cholesterol nhưng đây là lần đầu tiên, khoa học đã chứng minh được mối liên hệ giữa thiếu vận động với nguy cơ nghẽn mạch phổi, thường là mầm mống tấn công tim mạch.

Nghẽn mạch phổi xảy ra khi có một cục máu đông di chuyển theo sự lưu thông của máu trong cơ thể, rồi ngưng lại ở một động mạch phổi và làm nghẽn mạch. Có khi có nhiều cục máu đông đồng thời làm nghẽn nhiều điểm của nhiều mạch máu khác nhau ở phổi. Thông thường, các cục máu đông này chủ yếu xuất phát từ bắp chân. Mức độ nghẽn mạch phổi rất khác nhau, từ nhẹ tới nặng. Người bệnh có thể cảm thấy khó thở, tức ngực và ho nhưng có những trường hợp người bệnh không hề nhận thấy và lại có những trường hợp gây đột tử cho bệnh nhân.

Các nhà khoa học hi vọng sẽ tiếp tục tiến hành những nghiên cứu sâu rộng hơn, như xác định xem kết quả này liệu có tương đương ở nam giới hay không.
