Vai trò của khuẩn Bifidus với tuổi ăn dặm

Một nghiên cứu mang tính toàn cầu cho thấy cả hai loại vi khuẩn bifidobacteria và vi khuẩn Lactobacillus (thuộc nhóm Bifidus) đều có mặt trong sữa mẹ. Vậy khuẩn Bifidus đóng vai trò ra sao đối với sức khỏe của trẻ nhỏ, đặc biệt là tuổi ăn dặm?

Bifidus - Vi khuẩn có lợi

Các vi khuẩn sống có lợi là khi ăn vào đem lại các lợi ích sức khoẻ con người nhờ cải thiện hệ vi sinh đường ruột và chức năng của ruột. Bifidobacteria và Lactobacillus là hai loại Bifidus thông dụng nhất hiện nay.

Trong số các chủng Bifidobacterium hiện có, Bifidobacterium longum là chủng phổ biến nhất, kế tiếp là Bifidobacterium lactis. Trong đó B. lactis và B. longum đã qua thử nghiệm rộng rãi và đã được chứng minh về độ an toàn và hiệu quả, được công nhận bởi Cục Quản lý Dược và Thực phẩm Hoa Kỳ nằm trong “nhóm vi khuẩn an toàn”.

Ngoài ra, còn rất nhiều bằng chứng, chứng minh vai trò to lớn của Bifidus trong giảm nguy cơ tiêu chảy và mức độ tiêu chảy, đặc biệt là tiêu chảy cấp và tiêu chảy do sử dụng kháng sinh. Các vi khuẩn Bifidus còn giúp ngăn ngừa dị ứng như viêm da dị ứng, dị ứng thức ăn, mề đay…

Bifidus - Ít bệnh và khỏe mạnh

Ăn dặm là giai đoạn trẻ phải đối mặt với “khoảng trống miễn dịch” khi hệ miễn dịch chưa hoàn chỉnh trong khi lượng kháng thể nhận vào cơ thể lại giảm do trẻ bú ít hơn.

Ngoài ra, thức ăn dặm làm tăng nguy cơ khu trú các loại vi khuẩn có hại trong đường ruột do xâm nhập qua thức ăn.

Cùng với đó, ở thời kỳ ăn dặm, trẻ gia tăng tiếp xúc với môi trường bên ngoài do trẻ bắt đầu biết bò, mọc răng, biết vơ đồ vật cho vào miệng…

Do đó, ở thời kỳ này trẻ rất dễ mắc các bệnh nhiễm khuẩn như: tiêu chảy, viêm tai, nhiễm trùng đường hô hấp. Và việc bổ sung các vi khuẩn có lợi Biffidus cho trẻ trong thời kỳ ăn dặm sẽ có tác dụng như một hàng rào bảo vệ đường tiêu hóa của trẻ trước sự tấn công của vi khuân gây bệnh, đồng thời kích thích hệ miễn dịch của trẻ sản xuất ra các kháng thể. Trẻ sẽ khỏe mạnh và ít ốm đau.

Vì thế, để giúp trẻ ít bị bệnh và phát triển khỏe mạnh trong giai đoạn ăn dặm các bà mẹ cần phải cho con bú mẹ hoàn toàn trong 6 tháng đầu; khi trẻ lớn hơn, nên cho trẻ dùng bột ăn dặm và các sản phẩm sữa có bổ sung vi khuẩn có lợi Bifidus.
